Named for the five "M's" in my life, M5 Design, LLC, was born after decades of working in the engineering world. I have been blessed to work with, and be mentored by, some of the best and brightest minds in electrical engineering. Those mentors taught me everything I know about this industry and I am truly grateful to have worked with them. Becoming brave enough to go out on my own only happened because of continued support of all the people in my life. They knew I could do this long before I did. So here I am, ready to start this next chapter. To those who've been asking when this was going to happen, Well, HERE I AM! ~Michelle
My philosophy
I look at electrical engineering and lighting design as a unique and beautiful puzzle. Each project has its own quirks. Its own challenges. And its own opportunities to be special. I relish in finding the best way to design a project. All aspects are considered: efficient power distribution systems, mindful device layout, creative and beautiful lighting design, and code compliant and easy to use lighting control systems. I wrap all this up in a set of drawings that will be accurate and easy to read.
Drafting seems to be a fading art form, but I believe it adds to the value of the job. A beautifully drafted set of construction documents will go through permitting more easily, will be bid more accurately, and will make the contractor's job easier. All of which saves time and money for the owner. Whomever I'm contracted thru, architect, developer or contractor, I remember that not only do I work for that person, but I work for the end user. The person who will be sitting at the desk, or brewing the coffee, or welding the metal. That person should have a space that works well for them, too. I strive to consider all aspects and phases of a construction project and treat is as if it were my project. Essentially, my goal is to take each project - no matter the size - and give it the same respect I would give my own. Your project deserves it!
